Postgraduate courses
Applicants for most postgraduate courses within the UK should apply directly to the university or course provider of their choice.

Some educational institutions operate postgraduate admissions offices that will handle your application.
Other institutions instruct candidates to apply directly to the relevant department.
Most institutions charge a small to moderate fee to cover the administrative costs of processing your application.

You should be prepared to complete detailed application forms, covering your educational and vocational achievements, your reasons for applying and outlining any particular academic interests you may have.

You will also usually have to provide references to support your application. If you are a doctoral or research candidate, you should expect to be asked for a detailed overview of your proposed research topic.
