Founded in 1952, Academy SJW was one of the first language schools to be established in London. This small, family run language school provides you with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Academy SJW can teach up to 90 students at any one time in classes of 8 maximum. All teachers at Academy SJW are native English speakers and are known for their patience, tolerance, and sense of humour!

Academy SJW runs a general English course known as Maincourse, and during July and August it runs a Summercourse. Both offer 25 intensive group tuition lessons a week at a range of levels. You can join on Monday every week and the minimum study period is two weeks. Academy SJW also offers 4 week exam preparation courses for IELTS and 14 week courses for the range of Cambridge certificates.

As well as English language classes, Academy SJW organizes up to 4 optional social events a week, from pub crawls to museum and gallery trips! On Saturdays they organize trips outside London so that you can experience other wonderful parts of England.

There are 10 classrooms at Academy SJW, each with their own mini library of English books that you are welcome to borrow. You can also loan audio tapes and videos to help you practise in your spare time. During breaks from your lessons you can relax in the student lounge where there are tea and coffee facilities available. You will also be able to catch up with your emails and surf the web for free during lunchtimes.
