Since opening in Hammersmith in 1988, King Street College London expanded so
much that it opened another centre in Shepherds Bush. Over 700 adult students
from 40 countries attend this large, privately run language school. This is
definitely a bustling, lively school where you can make countless friends.
King Street College London employs 25 teachers who are CELTA qualified.
All of them are enthusiastic about teaching English and although the lessons are
challenging, they are lots of fun too. You can study here on a full time or part
time basis, from 4 to 30 hours a week. You can join classes with up to 16
students on any Monday and stay for 1 week or 40!
The courses available
at King Street College London include General English which leads to exams for
the Cambridge papers. You can combine this with Conversation Classes, Business
English, one to one tuition, and IELTS. You can also brush up on your written
skills by enrolling for the Writing Skills course.
In your free time you
can explore London and its culture with new found friends or join in the social
programme. Activities arranged include garden parties and BBQ's, weekend trips
to tourist attractions and other UK cities, and cut price tickets for musicals
and plays.
As King Street College London teaches 700 students at any one time, the 15 spacious classrooms split between the two sites (Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush) are always busy and bustling with students. These rooms are equipped with video recorders so you can watch conversations and feature films during your lessons. All the textbooks you need are available for purchase from King Street College London. The Shepherds Bush site has its own garden which you can relax in during your breaks.
The Hammersmith centre of Kings Street College is just opposite the
Hammersmith Broadway tube station in West London. You can get here by taking a
tube on the Circle, District or Hammersmith and City Lines. The Hammersmith
Apollo concert venue and the Lyric Theatre are based here, as well as lots of
old traditional English pubs.
The Shepherds Bush Centre is within three
minutes walk of two tube stations, Shepherds Bush on the Central and Hammersmith
and City Lines and Goldhawk Road on the Hammersmith and City Line. Shepherds
Bush Green will be on your doorstep, as well as plenty of shops. You can walk
with ease to Holland Park and the nearby district of Kensington to see
Kensington Palace.
